Haiti & Uganda Update

Hi there,

We have had to pause our postings here to focus on the urgent needs in Haiti.

We are now finding a new balance of continuing with this long-term project to provide food and water to school children in Uganda alongside doing what we can for the people of Haiti.

Our contact in Uganda, Mr. Lyagoba, recently informed me that the rains have begun and growing season is starting.  They have done the hard labour of clearing the land.  But now they need our help to purchase the seeds.  If we cannot provide funds for seeds soon, then they will have to clear the land all over again before the next growing season.

Now is a good time to plan a fundraiser at your school or make a tax deductible donation to the Toronto District School Board.  You can mail it to: Uganda Project c/o Connie, Kimberley/BAS School, 50 Swanwick Ave., Toronto, M4E 1Z5.

Thanks!
